WINTER CAPE IN COLORADO

There is no other place that will make you feel more like princess Snow White, or perhaps a woodland elf, than the wilderness of Colorado. The forest critters & I have become fast friends & the cutest mule deer pass by my parent’s backyard & wait at the steps to be fed apples slices out of our hands. 🙂  The snowfalls, mountains, & aspens are equally dazzling, leaving you with nothing but cozy vibes for the duration of your stay.

One piece I chose to bring along is my new winter camel cape which I hope will remain a timeless piece in my wardrobe.  I’ve linked quite a few capes for you at the bottom of this post!

If you are planning a trip to Colorado, there are endless things to see but I thought I would list a few recommendations below from my visits over the years:

BOULDER

  • In the heart of it’s historic downtown lies Pearl Street Mall, lined with a mix of small shops & restaurants that come with a view of the Flatirons.  If the word “mall” scares you, think of a grand cobblestone walkway with plenty of greenery, people watching, local artisan goods, & live music.  What’s not to love?
  • Not too far off the path you’ll find the stunning Boulder Dushanbe Teahouse.  More than 40 artisans from the country of Tajikistan created the decorative elements inside, transporting you to an entirely different world.

COLORADO CHERRY COMPANY

  • The best pie you’ll ever have (aside from maybe your grandma’s).  My favorites include the cherry & the pear cranberry.  This 4th-generation family owned business is famous for their variety of cherry goods in general & is tucked away in the quintessential mountain town of Lyons, just outside of Boulder.

GARDEN OF THE GODS

  • The name really speaks for itself. 😉

MANITOU SPRINGS

  • This is such a fun place to go shopping & eat out at which, surprise, is also perfectly nestled in the mountains.  We personally loved the House of Jerky shop.  The teriyaki buffalo jerky is so yummy.  Then, head on over to PJ’s Bistro for the Hungarian goulash served over a giant potato latke or their delicious pierogies.  You really can’t go wrong here if you enjoy Eastern European cuisine.
  • Manitou Springs also has a unique & rather large old-fashioned arcade.  We had a blast competing on the vintage skee-ball machines & at the horse derby game.  Some of these games date back to 1900 even & you are bound to get lost in nostalgia at this historical treasure.

DENVER

EVERGREEN

  • If you plan on being in Denver for most of your stay, I would suggest getting away for a few hours for a beautiful hike in Evergreen which is about 40 minutes out.  You’ll also get a feel for cozy mountain-town life here.

I’d love to know your favorite spots in CO in the comments below!
